"Queen" for a Day ~ Mother's Day

I had such a wonderful day yesterday....... A Lovely dinner with My Family{stuck to my new diet} I think My Sweet kids thought it was Christmas.... I was given Beautiful cards from each of them with Much Love inside~ If that weren't enough, I was given an MP3 player{for walking} by My oldest Daughter, SIL & My little Grandaughters..... Then My other Daughter & Son gave me a Much needed Digital Camera..... Now I don't have to borrow his camera anymore to post pics, YIPPY !

Today is May 2nd....... 82 years ago My Mom was born....... She is having what I pray is a "Heavenly" Birthday, since she passed away almost 6 years ago...... I can see her celebrating with My Dad & My Grandma ~ Her Mom......

Forget ~ Me ~ Not

Been a weary week for My Kids....... Their Grandfather Passed away last week..... Since I am Divorced, He was My former Father in Law, I had only seen him a few times over the past 11 years since our divorce..... Thinking back, I have been a Mac Kinnon for more years now, than I was a Goode ~ So Sad with his passing, even thou he had a Long Life. John never thought he would live long enough to have Grandchildren,(he did not marry till he was in his 40's) yet he has 10 Grand & 4 Great Grand..... He was born in Edinburgh Scotland 1913...... Moved to England & Met and Married Joyce Browning who was born in Wales, They had their Dreams of come to the US. First a short stay in Canada, then on to Michigan...... John was a Wood pattern maker for Airplanes during the war & later worked for Ford Motor Co. in Dearborn as a Wood pattern maker for the automobile where he retired in 1977.......
Saturday was the Viewing & Funeral for John, it was Sad but also Sweet seeing many of the family members I use to be part of..... Time shall go on, People we know & Love will Pass Away, Keeping All these Memories in Our Hearts Forever~

Another Soccer Player in the Fam..... Go Titans

Today I was up bright & early to attend the 2nd Soccer game for my little grandaughter..... the pictures above are from last weeks 1st game..... can you tell it was a cold 40 degrees in michigan, this saturday it was sunny & 57, but No camera.....
My Son, Ian[19] started playing soccer when he was the same age as Mem, 4.5 yrs. old. since Ian graduated last year, This Lady has truly been missing soccer ~ I LOVE the Game, it is My Favorite Sport ! Mem is the Only little girl on the team, but seems to be doing ok, not sure if she has kicked the ball yet, but we All keep cheering her On ~ "Go Titans"

I just wish my care giving day had gone alittle smoother ~
Angie was in a Not So Nice mood..... She was just very Grouchy..... She started out being very quiet so trying to get some conversation going, I would ask a simple question ~ "Are you hungry & ready for lunch yet?" it would be greeted by NOT A WORD (purposely ignoring Me) or a short snippy reply ~ "I am Not Eating Today" OK, that was just the beginning...... I was relieved when 4:00 came & I could start the hour trip home.

I have a stack of about 40 magazines that I have kept for soooooo long, because there is an idea or 2 that I liked in them..... Well, I spent part of my silent day with Angie going thur these magazines & tearing out the pages I wanted to save.... about 20 more to go thur tonight & I will be done~ took a large pile that was unruly & turned it into a usable folder filled with Great ideas. {working hard at De cluttering & Organizing my studio}

Fun Weekend with Mem

I had a Wonderful Weekend with My Grandaughter ~ Memphys is 4.5 ~ We had a Saturday Sleepover & Craft party...... Just the 2 of us ~ just like I use to do with My Grandma
{My Sweet Grandma Would have been 108 today ~ Happy Birthday Gram} 45 years ago.... Mem drew many pictures for me that now Grace my frig or idea board, plus sewing cards & other kid friendly projects. The picture included is her in the wedding dress (vintage )I found on eBay & the Bouquet & Veil I made for Dress-Up~ When her Baby Sister Emersyn is older, she certainly will be joining us.....

I hope many of you have been keeping up with the progress of the Art Doll "Love Squared" which was started by Monica Magness of Girl Gone Thread Wild..... (link from title) I had posted my contribution of squares back several post..... All the Beautiful Squares that were Lovingly Created by so many..... Then the Love & Patience that went into sewing each square unto this Wonderful Doll " Love Squared " You must go to Monica's blog site & read her touching posts..... This Doll is going to be featured in an upcoming Art Doll Quarterly, then auctioned off for the Susan G. Komen ~ For the Cure Fund..... I just had to post a few of the pics that Monica's Husband Jeff so kindly took & posted (Thanks Jeff for Your Efforts for the cause & the permissions to use photos) For more great pictures, check them out, along with the list of "Pink Artists" who participated in many ways..... I even found one of my squares..... Stay tuned for further news on the progress of this Doll.......

Sweet Opening Orchid

This is the first time since I received this Pretty Orchid that it is Blooming for me......
My daughter Nikki gave this to me about 3 years ago for Mother's Day ~ The flower stalk started to grow about 6 months ago...... Today it opens it first Blossom ~ It also has another flower stalk in the back, so I think this spring will be full of blooms...... I Do Love Orchids, people think they are difficult to take care of, I actually think they are a breeze.......

Finding Old Friends

Have you ever out the blue thought of someone you hadn't thought of in years? Decided you Must find them? Well, This past weekend, I was overwhelmed with a feeling to get up & search on the Internet for an Old Friend..... I think it must be at least 15 or more years since I saw her...... Deb was actually a great Artist friend of My Sister [Debby Rubis] The 2 Deb's met in the early 70's both working together in Commercial Arts ~ They were so much fun to hang around with, I always admired there friendship & talents...... Both Have continued in their Own right to be Well known Artists.....

Debby Keene & Her Husband Ben Czinski live in Lapeer Michigan ~ She is a Famous Wild Life Artist, He a Very Talented Wild Life Photographer ~

Off to Google & there she was ~ A photo of Deb doing a Carving demonstration of a bird feather.... I quickly found their Home Page with many photos of their Art, both Deb's Watercolors and Ben's Photographs. Next step was an email, giving her a short overview of the past 15 years..... you know, kids were 7 & 8 then, now their married with children..... Not knowing if She would remember Me, I kept my fingers crossed..... just a day later & to My Surprise ~ It was the email I hoped for....... Now several back and forth emails have followed really catching up.....
